Pax & Beneficia is a specialty coffee roastery with eight café locations across DFW. We roast clean, terroir-driven, expressive coffees.
The Role
You own the roast program. Production is supported — warehouse staff and a dedicated bagger are in place. Your focus is on the coffee.
Responsibilities
— Roast production on a Diedrich DR-12 (~1,200 lbs/week) and growing
— Weekly/Daily coffee QC — water activity, moisture, density, Agtron
— Weekly QC sessions with area managers, training and aligning the team to roastery standards
— Ownership stake in building and implementing the QC pipeline — this is ground-up work
— Release coordination with area managers on coffee availability and timing
— Cross-functional coordination with production, fulfillment, and wholesale/sales teams
— E-commerce SKU copy as needed, in collaboration with the Coffee Director
What We Need
— 3+ years of commercial drum roast production
— Fluency in Cropster
— A cupping practice you use and trust on your own work
— Ability to manage a production calendar independently
— Clear communicator across departments
Compensation
2-year salaried contract starting at $54,000, with structured steps at 6 and 12 months tied to defined performance benchmarks. Full renegotiation at end of term. Beyond base: performance bonuses, Q Grader sponsorship, World of Coffee, and origin travel available. We'd rather build around the right candidate and create a package that best suits your needs.
To Apply
Send a short note about your background and your favorite coffee you've had recently to wade@paxandbeneficia.com. No resume required to start — 20-minute call first, then we go from there.
Pax and Beneficia is a 8 (soon to be 9) location coffee company. We source very directly and roast lightly. We have one central roastery that services all our cafes in the DFW area.
