Business Development Manager, Canada [Equipment (Away-from-Home)]

Job Description

The Business Development Manager, Canada, will be responsible for leading the Canadian business development for Melitta’s coffee solutions within the out-of-home commercial and non-commercial channels.  These solutions include, but are not limited to, fully automatic espresso coffee equipment, coffee products, equipment service programs, and digital solutions. 

We are seeking someone with a hunter mentality, strong customer contact list, passion to sell into new business segments and have a deep understanding and selling experience of the coffee and espresso equipment business.

Responsibilities and Duties

  •  Sell Melitta professional coffee/espresso equipment, service programs, digital solutions, and coffee products into national and regional accounts.
  • Responsible for business development across non-commercial and commercial segments to include Coffee/Café, Hospitality, QSR, FSR, Healthcare and Convenience segments.
  • Cultivate customer centric relationships across all levels to grow business within assigned accounts.
  • Ability to work cross functionally to support business needs and drive customer projects through the system.
  • Maintain strong business acumen to manage customer pricing and negotiate customer contracts.
  • Maintain a high-level awareness of competitive landscape, market trends, and key account activity to contribute to current and future business planning and product innovation.
  • Lead all account management responsibilities to support current and new customers.
  • Develop and manage distributor/dealer network to ensure proper sales coverage in key markets. Provides ongoing feedback to distributor/dealer network ensuring sales objectives are understood and achieved. 
  • Provide ongoing customer forecasts to assist in production and annual budget planning.
  • Create annual sales business plan to include existing customers and new customer targets that align with US budget revenue and EBIT objectives.
  • Participate in required industry trade and customer events.
  • Support operations and service teams to support overall business needs and enhance customer experience.
  • Update customer activity in CRM tool including sales funnel activity and miscellaneous reports as needed.

 Skills

  • Food Service, coffee, and espresso equipment sales experience is required.
  • Must be able to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to travel as required by role (50% travel).
  • Remote position located in Eastern US within a major city.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Problem solving and analytical ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft word, excel and power point.
