Job Description
If you love business operations, being part of a team focused on ethical practices and you like
coffee, we need to talk! We’re looking for a flexible and versatile office, sales and marketing
manager who will be responsible for critical office processes including organization of physical
space, digital photos, trade show preparation and marketing support. You will help Artisan gain
key sales insights by supporting creation and regular updates to profitability and sales tracking
sheets. Get in on the ground floor and make a big impact! The main goal of this position is to
help Artisan us serve our customers well.
Responsibilities include:
Marketing Support
- Organize digital photos in digital folders and drives for use in marketing materials
- Support purchasing research and follow-thru for promotional gifts and printed material for
trade shows.
- Standard, repeated website updates: spot coffee list update; upload latest Mailchimp newsletter,
link latest blogposts, etc.
- Occasional updates to Mailchimp (audience updates with new contacts)
- Occasional social media support for Instagram & Facebook using Later.com platform
Sales Support
- Updates to Zoho.com Customer Relationship Management platform
- Support president developing pricing sheets
- Utilize Quickbooks reports and spreadsheets to calculate profitability reports
- Create and manage sales tracking sheets, giving sales team regular updates on goals
- Create calendar of when customers have planned to take releases and send reminders to sales
team.
- Support president / sales with cupping reports from Cropster (learn Cropster software)
- Support special projects related to sales at events, e.g. “cold brew at Roast Summit”
Office / General Administration
- Support president with scheduling meetings, from time to time arranging a translator.
- Manage physical office organization: continuous improvement of shelf labeling and
organization, create office systems with binders, paper and digital files.
- Recognize patterns and set-up systems to streamline Artisan operations
- Collect and organize information for purchase decisions.
- After purchase decisions made, move forward with ordering process, follow-up, etc.
- Other duties as needed.
-Support team atmosphere through your leadership.
Time requirement: 15-32 hrs/ week, min 3 days/week in AA office
Minimum: 15 hours/week, 3 days/week in Ann Arbor office
Maximum: 32 hours/week, 4 days/week in Ann Arbor office
Employment status: Independent contractor (1099 tax status)
Reports to: president – Ruth Ann Church
Work Location: In-person in Ann Arbor, MI.
Equipment: Must provide own laptop and cell phone.
Required skills, knowledge & abilities:
Enthusiasm and energy
Committed to ethical business practices
3 – 5 years in office management preferred.
3 – 5 years in specialty coffee preferred.
Enjoys being part of a small, growing, entrepreneurial company.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel
Good knowledge of Google Drive (google sheets and google docs).
Internet skills: can easily utilize search engines and typical website navigation.
Organized: prioritizes tasks and manages projects well
Experience in creation of office systems, implementation and management.
Can work independently
Works well in a professional environment.
Ideal/preferred:
B.A. in business or similar
