JNP Coffee is looking for a Junior Trader to lead our new client acquisition efforts and work closely with the CEO to operationalize JNP Coffee’s sales strategies. The Junior Trader – Specialty Coffee (New Client Acquisition) is responsible for developing new client relationships and supporting the trading and execution of green coffee contracts. This is a “hunter” role focused on new customer acquisition, ideal for someone with a strong understanding of the specialty coffee market—particularly East African origins. The Junior Trader is responsible for building a qualified sales pipeline, converting high-potential leads into long-term clients, and supporting trade execution. This role combines proactive commercial outreach with hands-on coordination and thrives within a purpose-driven company that embeds sustainability and transparency into every transaction.

Responsibilities Include:
Proactively identify and acquire new clients in the specialty green coffee sector, with a focus on values-aligned roasters and importers across domestic and international markets.
Manage the full sales cycle: outreach, needs assessment, sampling, pricing, negotiation, and contract closure.
Maintain and grow a healthy pipeline of prospects through consistent CRM use, lead generation strategies, and direct outreach.
Collaborate with marketing on campaigns and tools designed to generate and convert leads.
Represent JNP Coffee’s East African offerings with fluency in varietals, processing methods, traceability, and producer relationships.
Conduct cuppings, tastings, webinars, and events to promote JNP Coffee’s values and offerings.
Clearly communicate JNP Coffee’s value proposition, including impact-driven sourcing and quality excellence.
Build long-term relationships with roasters and green buyers, acting as their primary point of contact during onboarding and initial purchasing.
Maintain accurate sales activity records and forecasting using CRM tools. Report on market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to inform internal strategy.
Meet or exceed quarterly and annual new revenue targets.
Provide market feedback to the CEO and team to inform strategy and product offerings.
Represent JNP Coffee at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities as needed.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in green coffee sales, trading, or specialty sourcing.
Solid understanding of green coffee markets, pricing structures, and specialty quality parameters.
Proven ability to meet sales targets and build lasting relationships in the specialty coffee community.
Passion for sustainability and belief in using business as a tool for development and empowerment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex value propositions clearly.
Highly organized and self-directed, able to manage multiple leads and timelines independently.
Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Constant Contact), e-commerce platforms, Microsoft Suite and Excel; industry-specific quality tracking tools a plus
Willingness to travel to industry events and client visits (~20%).
Experience with East African coffees strongly preferred.
