DEAD RIVER COFFEE ROASTERS MANAGER DESCRIPTION
We are looking to hire early fall and train this role while the current manager transitions out of full time. Comprehensive training while onboarding.
Our manager will meet with the owner on a weekly basis as well as attend weekly Manager meetings with the owner and the Manager of Coffee. They are self-driven, creative, innovative, and a problem solver. Someone with ideas, energy, and a positive attitude to help carry out Dead River Coffee’s values every day.
Our manager is responsible for supporting barista staff, preparing and training staff to make excellent beverages, providing excellent customer service. She or he will create a warm and welcoming environment for staff and customers while maintaining a clean cafe and uphold the standard put in place by operations.
This is a hands-on role with scheduled bar hours, they are a large part responsible for maintaining the values of the company. This is a customer facing position that is designed for growth with the right person.

Core Responsibilities:
Operations: oversee cafe cleanliness, open and closing procedures, maintain relevant SOPs and systems
Staff Management: maintain clear communication and expectations with staff. Schedule and train baristas, host monthly staff meetings with the Manager of Coffee, working to continue the staff education and expertise on all things coffee
Quality Control: Ensure all food and beverages meet strict quality standards, oversee production of syrups, baked goods, cold brewed coffee
Customer Experience: handle complaints, lead by example of unbeatable customer service, maintain a welcoming environment
Events: prep, manage, and staff summer events. Use creative leeway to create events year round to draw new customers to the cafe
Financial Oversight: Stay within set budget for monthly expenses, payroll, and daily cost and earnings
Dead River Coffee Roasters reserves the right to modify or change job duties as business needs evolve
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Four year college degree preferred but not required
Two+ years of customer service experience, cafe or restaurant experience preferred but not required
Experience managing multiple employees, budget, daily operations, and weekly and monthly tasks
ServSafe certification required–must obtain within 3 months of joining the company
Passion for customer service and coffee. Maintains a high standard for both

Benefits:
Pay is based on relevant experience: $39,000-$49,000
Potential for bonuses of, but not limited, to $1000+/annually
