Coffee Roasting Production Assistant

We are excited to add our next team member! This is an entry level position in within our roasting and production team, with the opportunity to progress to production roasting. Speedwell Coffee is a specialty coffee roaster located in Plymouth, MA, and we are looking for an individual with a passion and interest in coffee, and an enthusiasm for learning. Prior experience in roasting is not required, however we prefer a candidate with work experience in the specialty coffee industry. Candidates will learn to roast on a Diedrich CR-25 and Loring S35.

Candidates must already be residing and eligible to work in the US.

Candidate would join our production team, and participate in all aspects of our coffee production and order fulfillment.

Initial responsibilities would include:

• Packaging coffee
• Labeling bags
• Wholesale and Online Order fulfillment
• Communication with customers
• Weekly coffee cuppings
• Coffee education and training
• Intro to roasting

The responsibilities would then progress to include:

• Sample roasting
• Roast profile development
• Production roasting

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 150 pounds assisted
• Comfortably stand and walk for up to 9 hours in a day
• Have a valid Driver’s license and comfortable driving
• Have own reliable transportation
• Must wear attire that abides by Serv Safe requirements: close toed shoes, navel and armpits covered, long hair or beards tied back or restrained with a net.
