Dean’s Beans Organic Coffee is a pioneering Fair Trade and organic coffee roaster based in Orange, Massachusetts. For more than 30 years, we’ve used specialty coffee as a vehicle for positive social and environmental change. We are seeking a strategic, mission-driven Sales Manager to help lead our next phase of wholesale growth.
Position Summary
The Sales Manager will play a key leadership role in driving wholesale revenue growth while strengthening customer relationships and expanding Dean’s Beans’ market presence. This newly created position combines strategic planning with hands-on sales execution and works closely with the CEO to shape and implement the company’s wholesale sales strategy.
The ideal candidate is both a thoughtful strategist and an active relationship-builder who thrives in a collaborative small-business environment. This position is based onsite at our “Beanery” headquarters in Orange, MA, and includes regular travel throughout New England using a company vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
- Partner with the CEO to develop and execute wholesale growth and revenue strategies
- Identify new markets, customer segments, and distribution opportunities
- Contribute to company-wide strategic planning and business decision-making
- Evaluate pricing, positioning, and product opportunities to support sustainable growth
Revenue Ownership & Sales Strategy
- Own wholesale sales targets, forecasting, and pipeline management
- Analyze sales performance and market trends to identify opportunities and risks
- Develop scalable sales systems and processes
- Lead strategic sales opportunities and contract negotiations
Customer & Market Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key wholesale accounts
- Develop strategic partnerships to expand brand reach and distribution
- Represent Dean’s Beans as a brand ambassador within the marketplace
- Gather customer feedback and translate insights into business opportunities
- Grow regional sales of Nice Nitro ready-to-drink cold brew products
Sales Execution & Enablement
- Design and execute outreach strategies, campaigns, and account plans
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to create effective sales materials and messaging
- Ensure responsive customer engagement, including product demos, education, and distributor coordination
- Provide monthly reporting on sales activities and outcomes
- Support accurate CRM and order management processes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, production, and marketing teams to align sales strategy with supply planning
- Provide accurate forecasting to support production needs
- Ensure sales initiatives align with company values and long-term objectives
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of successful sales or business development experience
- 3+ years of sales management experience
- Demonstrated success driving revenue growth and developing long-term customer relationships
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, QuickBooks, and Canva
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to recruit, train, and support sales team members as needed
- Self-motivated with strong integrity, accountability, and initiative
- Ability to balance attention to detail with big-picture thinking
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to travel throughout New England
Preferred
- Experience in coffee, food, beverage, or CPG industries
- Experience in entrepreneurial or small-business environments
- Familiarity with wholesale and retail distribution channels
- Experience implementing or scaling CRM and sales systems
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $85,000–$95,000 annually, depending on experience
- Full-time salaried position (40 hours/week)

- 401(k) with company contribution equal to 5% of salary
After two years of employment, eligible employees may apply to become worker-owners in the cooperative.
