Job Description

The Specialty Coffee Sales Representative is a role focused on growing specialty coffee product sales through strategic prospecting, converting new business, and account management in the Iowa area. The target market includes independent coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, churches, and schools. This role reports directly to the Senior Sales Representative based in Minneapolis and involves significant travel within the Iowa territory.

General Duties Include:

  • Focuses on new business generation by identifying sales opportunities within the target market and tracking in the company’s CRM database
  • Drives sales within the current customer base by strategically introducing new products & services on a regular schedule
  • Performs product demonstrations and presentations to prospective customers and existing clients
  • Facilitates customer training in the field including barista training, cleaning/maintaining specialty coffee equipment, and innovative recipe execution
  • Records and maintains all customer and prospect information and opportunities within company CRM with the objective of meeting future goals through traditional pipeline averages and reaching sales goals with a high level of efficiency and customer service
  • Works closely with ESI Iowa office team based in Des Moines to cross-sell, drive new business, and problem solving
  • Creates marketing campaigns on a quarterly basis to upsell, educate and engage with clients and prospects
  • Manages accounts receivable to ensure timely payment from customers
  • Researches and reports on market trends and products to maximize the company's competitive advantage
  • Attends industry trade shows and events


  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to be insured
  • Independent and professional, driving daily schedule with purpose
  • Strong ability to manage time, including scheduling and prioritizing sales call schedule, managing data entry, and follow up on customer requests/needs
  • Excellent problem solving and customer service skills with a sense of urgency and care in every aspect of customer engagement
  • Strong written and oral communication with attention to detail
  • Ability to be a team player and work well across all departments including Service, Equipment, and Product operations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
  • Knowledge and experience with CRM tools is preferred
  • Scheduled hours are 8 AM-4:30 PM Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend commitments
