OVERVIEW: 

The Electrical Controls Engineer’s role requires advance knowledge working with PLC programs HMI graphics programming, AutoCAD Electrical, Equipment Layout, Panel Layout and Electrical Schematic Designs.  This position is structured to work collaboratively with the Production and Engineering Departments to complete extensive pre-delivery testing of the organization’s proprietary equipment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

•        Design and development of new equipment control systems.

•        Develops wiring diagrams, PLC programs and touch screen graphics.

•        Develops, implements and measures a process of completing pre-delivery testing of the                             organization’s proprietary equipment.

•        Intergrades control panel with mechanical components to ensure proper equipment function.

•        Implements error proofing solutions that are integrated into the manufacturing process control                 system.

•        Collaborates with shop personnel and engineering staff to ensure all components meet safety                  standards.

•        Maintains the documentation of existing equipment control systems. 

•        Provides customer support regarding electrical and programing issues remotely as well as on-site.

•        Manages multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.

•        Collaborates with the sales team to evaluate customer process and develops best solution to the              meet their requirements.

•        Provides on-site training to ensure customer has the adequate knowledge to run the equipment                properly and safely.

•        Works with customers to ensure the organization meets their specifications and coding                              requirements.

•        Coordinates and completes safety system testing and troubleshooting.

•        Participates in the organization process improvement initiatives.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

•        Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

•        3+ Years Advanced experience working with Allen Bradley and Panel View programming software

•        Experience working in the Manufacturing Industry; Food processing equipment-Preferred

•        PLC Programming Software (preferable Allen-Bradley Studio 5000)

•        Skilled in ACAD, Equipment Layout, Panel Layout and Electrical Schematic Design

•        Experience with Ladder Logic programming

•        Proficient in Safety guidelines, including Lock-Out Tag-Out, Arc flash
