Job Description

Position Summary:

The Retail Training Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of

successful training programs and tools that are aligned to the mission statement

and core business strategies of Dancing Goats and Kaldi’s Coffee. The Retail

Training Manager will contribute to the organization by constantly delivering

superior service through outstanding products and a renowned guest experience.

The manager will also demonstrate a commitment to creating, developing, and

maintaining an authority where knowledge is genuine, relevant and humbly

available.

Duties & Responsibilities:

● Development and delivery of training content, encompassing all positions in retail cafes that

require a training program. Uses a broad range of training delivery programs, including

hands-on and in-café instruction.

● Creates a harmonious work environment by using communication that is clear,

honest, and complete. Maintains clear and concise communication with the GM,

Herd, and Lead Barista team.

● Manages & executes Retail Barista Certification program.

● Works with the Lead Barista team to achieve full adoption and demonstration of

standards with new and existing employees. Provides GM and company

leadership with honest and timely individual certification updates.

● Maintains strong management presence and tone in stores during each training

shift by ensuring 100% customer focus, upholding company drink standards,

demonstrating a positive attitude, and promoting good morale throughout the

store and shows a strong sense of urgency.

● Maintains accurate records and paperwork including training progress reports,

training newsletters, pertinent sales information, and updated company coffee

standards.

● Uses hands on, side-by-side approach to train and develop all store personnel in accordance

with Dancing Goats and Kaldi’s Coffee Roasting Co. training standards.

● Assess retail staff performance on a daily basis and coaches each employee utilizing

constructive feedback and positive reinforcement.

● Communicates staff developmental needs to the GM, Director of Retail and Lead Barista

team.

● Demonstrates leadership and integrity by setting examples of superior guest

service, continual development of barista skills, embodiment of a training

professional and reliable with overall attendance and availability.

● Calibrates and troubleshoots various types of brewing equipment and

grinders.

● Works with other Dancing Goats and Kaldi’s staff to continuously seek out

education for self and training programs, incorporating that knowledge and

information into the evolving training program.

● Assists with Wholesale training and other coffee events as well as general

market support when needed.

● Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

Bachelor's Degree preferred.

AND

4 years of work experience in the specialty coffee industry (retail or

wholesale) with a focus of delivering training programs is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
