About the Role

Our Baristas will serve our customers world class coffee and keep each other to high standards

ensuring that quality work is always performed. The person will be expected to be the expert in

all functions of the bar and tasks in the café, provide exceptional customer hospitality, and

oversee café cleanliness while living out our mission to make coffee inclusive, incredibly

delicious, and fun.

About You

The ideal candidate is someone who loves all things coffee and is motivated by connecting

other coffee lovers with an excellent product. A successful Barista demonstrates exemplary

time management and bar. The Barista should readily engage in open communication to allow

for conflict resolution by speaking with the Café Manager or directly to ownership about

problems that may arise. There is no way this job description can be completely exhaustive and

executive decision making when unexpected problems arise is critical to this role.

Compensation & Benefits

· The compensation starting $15/hr with a $5 tip guarantee. +$1/hr when the training period ends. May be increased based on

experience.

Required Qualifications

· Specialty coffee experience

· Knowledge of trends in the coffee industry

· Knowledge of café technology such as POS

· Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations

· Present yourself with a pleasant disposition

· Exemplary time management skills

· Excellent organizational skills

· Good personal hygiene

· Strong cash handling skills

· Ability to work weekends

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Café Operations

· Ensure that the cafe is cleaned daily and that the maintenance/sanitation of all equipment and

bar areas is kept in top notch state

· Greet customers with a genuine and warm welcome

· Dial in and prepare coffee to showcase the coffee in the best possible way

· Engage with customers about their preferences and offer suggestions

· Expertly craft beverages and prepare food items in an expedited manner

· Cultivate relationships with customers by learning their names and regular drinks

· Take initiative with daily tasks

· Utilize available resources to fill a need

· Help in creating new seasonal beverages and the accompanying syrups, sauces, and

garnishments

· Problem solving and finding solutions to things that will come up

Working Conditions

· Frequently required to stand for long periods of time, crouch, kneel, walk, reach and twist

· Expect to use a keyboard or touchscreen device

· Ability to lift 50 lbs.

· Working directly with customers and the general public in a retail environment
