Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Cost Accountant to support our coffee production facilities. This position plays a key role in cost accounting, inventory analysis, and financial reporting. You will work closely with the Plant Controller to manage month-end closing activities and contribute to special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee cost accounting functions, reporting, and analysis for the coffee production plant.
  • Maintain plant cost structures, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and annual standards to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Establish and enforce robust controls to safeguard inventory assets and prevent discrepancies.
  • Reconcile inventory accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide insightful monthly variance analysis reporting for select departments, identifying key trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support month-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and generating reports.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor inventory obsolescence and proactively recommend actions to mitigate potential risks.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in the annual physical inventory process to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with analysis and reconciliation of cycle counts to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process by providing cost insights and financial forecasts.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns in compliance with local regulations.
  • Lead and participate in special projects, offering analytical support to enhance business operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proficient in SAP S/4 Hana
  • Advanced Excel skills with a focus on data analysis and reporting
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related cost accounting or finance role
  • Proven ability in cost analysis and financial reporting
  • Must be able to work at a computer (height-adjustable) for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. when necessary
