Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role as a Maintenance & Engineering Manager at Melitta USA, Inc., in Cherry Hill, NJ. The Maintenance & Engineering Manager supports the day-to-day operations and facility maintenance of the Cherry Hill Roastery. This position leads a team of mechanics to ensure that our Limble CMMS is being fully utilized, along with preventive and predictive maintenance. This position plays a key role in the overall success of our operation by planning, managing, and working with the operations team and Director, Coffee Operations for operational and process improvement, while meeting required personal safety, food safety and quality standards. The Maintenance & Engineering Manager oversees various engineering projects, processes, budgets, and timelines while making necessary adjustments to ensure successful project completions. The role requires strong leadership skills and a focus on project management to maintain and enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering preferred
  • Four years of managerial experience in manufacturing environment, or 8 years equivalent experience without a degree
  • Experience with processing and packaging equipment and facility maintenance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of motors, tools, conveyor systems, programmable logic controllers, motor control and mechanical/electrical trouble shooting skills
  • Read and understand P&IDs, process flow diagrams, cause and effect analyses
  • Preference for candidates with expertise in mechanical or electrical engineering systems within a manufacturing/production facility
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others orally and in writing
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures/policies
  • Ability to organize and direct oneself and effectively supervise others
  • Maintenance management experience in preventive and predictive maintenance practices
  • Practical experience with coffee roasting and packaging machinery, preferred
  • Good knowledge of food industry standards (GMPs and Food Safety Standards)
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
