Our Sales team currently has a rare and exciting opening for an experienced Sales Representative to cover our Northern Los Angles area sales territories (818 or 626 area codes in particular). The right person will be able to reach out to the restaurants, cafes, coffee houses, bakeries, donut shops, offices, and other businesses in their territory to source, manage, and develop new contracts for our full-service coffee program, which includes providing everything from our premium coffee to cups, creamers, and other supplies.

Demonstrated success in outside sales in a B2B environment is essential with experience in the food and beverage industry preferred. Previous work as a vendor to coffee shops, restaurants, commercial kitchens, or hospitality businesses and familiarity with the Latin/Asian markets is helpful. This is an offsite/road warrior role, but will occasionally require coming into the office for mandatory meetings, trainings and other events, so candidates must live in the SoCal Metro region. Familiarity with conversational Spanish a big plus. Here's what we will expect from you:

Essential Functions:

  • Generate new business for the full-service coffee program within an assigned territory through prospecting, cold calling, networking, relationship building, and delivering professional presentations, demonstrations, and tastings as needed, including onsite in the company showroom.
  • Establish and maintain quality business relationships with customers, including business owners, managers and staff through consistent site visits and virtual or in-person meetings to support profitable growth opportunities.
  • Perform assessments to identify client needs and issues to provide effective suggestions and solutions for foodservice products and services.
  • Maintain consistent sales activities and sales results, including developing coffee service contracts to achieve division sales goals.
  • Be a team player with a collaborative approach and leadership qualities in order to share best practices and innovative selling techniques during team projects and team activities, including mandatory onsite trainings and meetings.
  • Perform detailed documentation of customer-related activity and sales reporting through CRM system. Daily input of conversations with customers, account management notes, sales opportunities, tasks, follow up scheduling tasks and meeting appointments required.

Job Specifications

  • Comprehensive understanding and execution of the sales cycle: Prospect, qualify, present, propose, close
  • SoCal resident preferred. MUST have a valid drivers’ license with a clean DMV record and willingness to travel within assigned territory.
  • Understanding of the dynamics and general knowledge of coffee brewing and coffee sales in Food Service.
  • Knowledge of coffee brewing equipment and hands on experience with espresso machines.
  • Ability to speak conversational Spanish a strong plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively use virtual meeting platforms
  • Strong results-oriented self-starter
  • Responsive and highly organized in following up and meeting deadlines
  • Active listening, empathetic toward others, positive and diplomatic attitude, enthusiastic
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change
  • Quality competencies in internet research, social media platforms, MS Outlook and MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience working with Sales Force or other CRM Systems

Education and Experience Requirements

  • BS/BA in Business, Marketing or related field and/or equivalent experience with strong influential and persuasive sales skills with decision makers at all levels of an organization
  • 5+ years B2B outside field sales experience in a quota-driven 'hunting' and 'farming' environment
  • Experience in working with a cross-functional team (Sales, Marketing, Service, and Customer Service) to accomplish business objectives
  • Experience in working with individuals of diverse background including different ethnic groups where English may be a second or third language
